I talked to Ty last weekend. He always calls me when he's in the grocery store - I don't know why. He is doing nothing but chemistry and chemistry labs and more chemistry and chemistry homework this summer, 18 hours of chemistry. He's hoping he can push his grades above the 89% where he tends to hover.
Somehow he does squeeze out time on weekends to play some Frisbee, get to a tournament, and next weekend, time to fly to Coeur d' Alene or Lewiston (Ty's always a little unclear) and get to Missoula to try out for a club team that took Nationals two years ago. He has several friends on the team and has played with them before. I thought that if you make it on a team, you should probably practice with them, but Ty says he's good enough that he can just show up at tournaments and play with them. Apparently, unlike college grades, Ty is not at all borderline when it comes to Ultimate. Just show up and put in an A+ performance. I can't wait to see him play again - Labor Day!
