Take Two

We went to sacrament meeting at our ward today, where the theme of the talks and the music was patriotism.  It was a good meeting.  One speaker couldn't pronounce patriotism, which was distracting, but the last speaker was really good.  She told about a public relations person from our church meeting with a civil rights leader and asking what we could do.  The response was "to not wear masks".  He talked about the KKK often being regular community members who wouldn't be bullies and thugs if they didn't have a mask.  Then she related this to our lives, and times when we hide behind something instead of being true.  Great talk.

Then we drove across town and went to Stacey and Mike's sacrament meeting because they were both speaking.  First they had to introduce themselves to the ward.  They've only lived there three months.  Then Stacey spoke on forgiveness and Mike spoke on repentance.  They both did a great job.  They had a lot of different resources and real life stories.  Stacey used several things from Pres. Uchtdorf's conference address that I gave a lesson on last month.  You can't go wrong with that kind of material.  It was funny when Mike spoke because he started out with a little humor and nobody laughed!  Not even a polite chuckle here and there.  Later in his talk he threw in a baseball line and tried to be a little light, and again, nobody laughed!  What's wrong with the those people?

It's a cute family over there in Meridian.  Hudson had his shoes on the wrong feet, but crossed his legs and said he didn't.  Hadley was showing me all the pink she had one.  She hugged her little sister and told me she was her bestest friend.  Then she cried when it was time for nursery - kind of traumatic.  We didn't quite make our three hour quota, but double sacraments should count.
